Managing and Crushing Student Loan Debt
Thursday, March 18, 2021, 6:15 PM - 7:15 PM CDT
Category: Statewide

DESCRIPTION:

We acknowledge that our occupational therapy students are faced with tuition and housing fees that has increased steadily over the years .   Although statics extracted from the internet report the average graduate program tuition fees of Texas colleges in 2020 is $7,315 for Texas residents and $16,456 for students from other States, many students are reporting student load debt averaging more than $50,000.  New graduates are expressing concern on how to manage their personal and professional lives after graduation with the debt.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1.  Provide objective information to occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant students on managing daily life and expenses with student loan debt.
  2. Provide practical and professional advice on how to pay off student loan debt.
  3. Assist students in sorting through facts and myths surrounding student loan debt and loan forgiveness.
  4. Provide information on how to avoid getting into debt.
