Rio Grande CEU Meeting

DESCRIPTION: 

Current research highlights traumatic childhood experiences and a greater change of physical and behavioral health problems in adulthood. These problems can affect the daily occupations of patients at all life stages. Occupational therapists are uniquely poised to aid in fostering resilience and promoting productive and meaningful occupations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Participants will be able to identify three types of trauma.
2. Participants will define how trauma can affect development and participation in daily occupations.
3. Participants will be able to define trauma-informed care and identify its components.
4. Participant will be able to describe the occupational therapist's role in providing trauma informed care.
