The Importance of a Good Leadership for the Treating Clinician

To understand the importance of good leadership and its effect on the treating clinician, OT practitioners must understand the influences of vision/values, culture, and good leadership.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Identify the importance of vision and values in the workplace
2.Understand the impact of culture in healthcare
3. Identify and know how to practice servant leadership

SPEAKER:  Jason Stark, OTR, 

Since 2011, Jason Stark has served as president of Cole Health. He oversees the operations providing outpatient pediatric rehabilitation and outpatient applied behavior analysis services at 21 locations in Texas and 3 locations in North Carolina. Jason trains and coaches a team of 11 managers for Cole Health as well as oversees the treatment of more than 3,000 patients per week. As President, he believes in serving through coaching and developing leaders, mentoring, and education for employees to be their best selves to establish a positive, fun, and healthy work environment for patients and employees to perform at their best. He is a respected member of the health care community and has been a representative to the Texas Legislature and Health and Human Services to advise on rehabilitation services policy. He has been an influential leader within the Texas Occupational Therapy Association. He is the current president and has served in other leadership positions including vice president, development chair and district chair of the Gulf Coast East District.Jason received his B.S. in Occupational Therapy from the School of Health Professions in Lubbock, Texas receiving the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Texas Women’s University.
