Topic: Early Indicators of Children with ASD Speaker: Joanne E. Flanagan, OT, ScD Joanne Flanagan, ScD, OTR is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Flanagan received her Bachelor of Science at Texas A&M University (Woop!), her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Washington University, and her Doctor of Science degree in Occupational Science at Towson University. Prior to becoming an assistant professor, Dr. Flanagan completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the STAR Institute, and worked at Kennedy Krieger Institute and the National Institutes of Health, where she developed extensive clinical and research experience working with infants and young children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Her research interests are early identification of infants at risk for autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders and early intervention for children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
