Course Description: Electrotherapy is within the scope of occupational therapy practice and supports functional recovery through pain modulation, muscle re-education, edema control, and enhanced movement. This course equips OT practitioners with the foundational knowledge and clinical reasoning needed to safely and effectively integrate electrophysical agents into rehabilitation, in alignment with state regulations and evidence-based practice.
Learner Objectives:
- List the different types of electrophysical agents (EPA’s), including their clinical applications, and basic biophysiological impact.
- Identify when and how to use electrophysical agents in patient care.
