Course Outline: Introduction - Why it is important to make the home safe - What / Where are primary risk areas - What are solutions to mitigate risks for patients - Examples of Before and After - Where to find financial assistance to implement solutions
Learner Objectives: Participants will be able to: 1. List two reasons why it is important for our clients to make their homes more accessible. 2. Identify two risk areas and approaches to mitigate or alleviate those risks. 3. List three tools or technologies used to reduce fall risks in the home. 4. Describe two sources of funding for environmental modifications and /or assistive devices to improve the accessibility of a client’s home.
